5 Beauty Self-Care Tips For Relaxation

5 Beauty Self-Care Tips For Relaxation 5 Beauty Self-Care Tips For Relaxation

We're celebrating National Relaxation Day by sharing some of our top tips on how you can turn your beauty routine into a daily pamper session.

Do you ever just wish you could live in a spa 24/7? We do.

We know life hasn't been easy and you might be feeling stressed as the world opens back up into an (almost) post-pandemic climate. While a beauty routine isn't the ultimate cure for our problems (trust us, we wish it was), it can be a good place to start. The secret to sustainable relaxation is making small yet therapeutic changes to your daily routine; and for many of us, that can include a beauty routine. After all, self-care is about tending to your own needs and connecting with yourself, in order to feel confident and relaxed in your own skin.

Here are our five beauty self-care tips to help you wind down and relax after a stressful day:

Add a rose quartz roller to your skincare routine

 Riya Rose Quartz Roller

Including massage in your beauty routine can have many benefits, especially when using our Riya Rose Quartz Roller. A roller can help to ease any tension you may have on your face and neck, while also decreasing signs of fine wrinkles. Use your rose quartz roller to roll against your jawline, cheeks, neck and underneath your eyes. You don't need to spend more than five minutes doing this, but feel free to keep going for longer (we know how good it feels).

Not only is a roller a great massage technique, it can also improve the appearance of your complexion. The Riya Rose Quartz Roller helps to stimulate blood flow and with its vibrating feature, the ultrasonic roller helps firm your skin's elasticity and sculpt your face's natural definition. Quick tip: If you remove the top of the Riya Rose Quartz Roller from the body and place it in the freezer for a few minutes before using it, the cooling effect can reduce signs of puffiness!

Treat yourself to a relaxing bath

When you picture the perfect relaxing night, you're probably thinking of soaking into a warm bath with soothing music and a glass of champagne in your hand. Of course, taking a bath may feel like a luxury, since showers are quicker and easier when we're on the go. But, when it comes to a relaxing beauty routine, taking time is key. But you don't have to go all out when taking a bath. All you really need is a handful of Epsom salt and a lavender-scented candle. Epsom salt can help relieve muscle tension and pain; when you're drawing a bath, gently sprinkle the salt into your tub until it dissolves. A soothing scent like lavender can also help alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety, so just light a lavender candle before you ease into your bathtub.

If you don't have access to a bath, you can still recreate a similar relaxing atmosphere when you take a shower. Attach a fresh Eucalyptus vine around your shower head. The steam from the shower will help spread the soothing scent throughout your bathroom. For your body, use an Epsom Salt scrub to exfoliate your skin. Finally, don't forget to apply a moisturiser afterwards, like our Aloe Coconut Body Lotion, for a little extra skin TLC.

Put on a face mask, and just take a deep breath.

Face masks are great for all skin types - no matter your skin concerns, there's a face mask for it. After washing your face with our Hydrating Facial Cleanser, apply your favourite face mask and leave it on as instructed. We love to include a face mask into our beauty routine, because you can use the time to just pause while your mask does the work. Sometimes when we're stressed, taking a short break to just sit in a bath or practice deep breathing and meditation can really help reduce tension. While it may be tempting to sit and scroll through social media, it may be better to use this time to let your mind, body (and soul) just breathe. Once the face mask is on, just sit at your vanity or on your bed and listen to a guided meditation for 10-15 minutes before rinsing or peeling the mask off.

Give yourself an at-home mani/pedi

Not enough time to visit your nail salon? No problem. Take a little “me time” and  give your fingers and toes the love they deserve with an at-home manicure and pedicure. You don't need all the fancy tools you would find at a professional nail salon; all you need is a nail cutter, base and topcoat and your favourite nail polish. If you want to go a little further, fill a small dish with warm soapy water, and soak your hands and feet in it for a few minutes to soften the cuticles before washing your hands and applying polish.

De-clutter and clean up your bathroom space

If your vanity looks disorganised and your bathroom counter is always cluttered, it can really affect your mood.  There's no shame in it, though - many of us don't always have the time to put things back in place after our skincare and makeup routines. But when it comes to winding down after a day, coming home to a nice clean and organised space makes a big difference.

Start off by removing all your products, and wipe down the surface with a disinfectant wipe or spray. Then go through each item and throw out anything that's expired or you don't use anymore. For unused products, you could put them in a separate pile to give away to friends and family or to a local women's shelter. Finally, put back your products and arrange them tidily.  Having a nice clean organized space for your beauty routine is one less thing for you to worry about.

After the year we've all had, a little self-care can go a long way. Sometimes, taking some time to focus on your own well-being can make all the difference to your life. Think about it, when you're not feeling your best, you're not going to be your best. So for National Relaxation Day and in fact for every day of the year, take the time you need to take care of yourself.
