How to start living your best life

How to start living your best life How to start living your best life

September marks Self Improvement Month – a time to reflect and see how we can work towards living our best lives.

Every new year we make resolutions and goals to improve our personal and professional lives. We’re now more than halfway through 2021 (crazy, right?) and

the good news is that September is Self-Improvement Month which means we can get a head start on our self-improvement journey before the clock strikes midnight for 2022.

Whether you’re looking to make minor adjustments in your life or major commitments, here are four ways you can celebrate Self Improvement Month 2021:

Visualize your higher self

When making plans for self-improvement, you need to have a clear vision of who you want to be. Create a vision board on Pinterest or the old school way with a board and some pictures. Select images that appeal to you and which you want to manifest for your future self. Is it a new apartment? A new job? No matter how big the vision is, try to organize and narrow down what you want first before making any plans.

Break down your big goals into smaller steps

Now that you know what you want, it’s time to plan how you can get there. First, take a look at your vision board and write down 1-3 big goals. Then, for each big goal, make a to-do list of things you can do to work towards the desired result. For example, let’s say you’re looking to switch careers. What can you do right now and work your way to a new job? Is it taking a course? Talking to your manager about changing your responsibilities at your current work? Break it all down until you have a list of steps and actions to tick off.

Create sustainable habits, and not just quick fixes

As much as we all might want to make big changes in a short period, we need to work towards something that we can commit to over the long term. The best way to achieve this is to start small. For example, if you have a weight loss goal, start with something you can easily manage. Instead of going straight into intense hour-long workouts, start with a 15–20-minute beginner’s exercise program. By starting off small, you can build on your skill, feel the progress, and work your way up to more challenging workouts.

Incorporate wellness practices in your life

Whether your self-improvement plans are career or personally focussed – it’s essential not to ignore your own health and wellness. When working towards your goals, it’s vital to ensure that your mind and body are in a good place before making any changes. Wellness could be including morning meditation, attending yoga classes, or starting a new personal hobby. So as well as finding time for online courses and exercise plans, try to add a little self-care into your daily life.

Quick tip: One great way to do this is by enhancing your nightly routine with a daily face massage using an ultrasonic face cleansing brush, like our Petal 2, or one of our Rose Quartz Rollers, such as Riya
